🎙️ Two of our BSB Nexus Seven Steps Leaders visited Radio Castelldefels to explain the meaning and purpose behind our ‘Seven Steps Emotional Intelligence for Life’ programme, sharing their own testimonials and experiences as Rainbow Leaders, alongside BSB Educational Psychologist Marga Sardà.

🧠 At BSB, emotional intelligence goes beyond lessons — it’s a daily practice that helps students understand their emotions, support others, and grow with confidence, assertiveness and empathy.

🌈 Guided by our Wellbeing & Student Support Department, our Sixth Form Seven Steps Leaders model positive behaviour and actively support younger students, strengthening our school community.

🏓 This week, our Year 7 students showcased a cross-curricular project they’ve been working on during their Society time: designing a packaging solution for the BSB Table Tennis teams to carry balls for tournaments and games.

💡 Students presented their ideas, discussed the challenges and solutions, and defended their prototypes in front of BSB parents and staff, explaining the thought process behind every detail.

📚 This project combined maths (nets & surface areas), geography (sustainable materials), English (writing instructions & persuasive texts), and ICT (logo design)—a perfect example of learning across subjects!

✨ Learning from those who know it best: our students ✨

Last week, our BSB City Secondary students took the lead in a special showcase for Year 6 pupils and primary families, sharing their real experiences of the transition to Secondary School.

🔬From learning and pathways to enrichment and support, it was an authentic insight into life at BSB, including a live STEM demonstration, using the same tech our students use every day to explore science in action!

🗣️ For our older students, it was also a chance to grow their Oracy skills: presenting in public, engaging with an audience and reflecting on their own Key Stage 3 journey.

🌟 Moving from Year 6 to Year 7 is an exciting milestone, but it can also bring nerves for both students and families. At BSB, we ensure to make this transition a confident and supported one, thanks to our dedicated staff and strong student community.

💗 Today, 4 February, we stand together for World Cancer Day. We are proud to share that during the first term, our NEXUS Community Leaders raised €993.98 in support of GEICAM’s breast cancer research.

🎉 Funds were raised through community events such as Stay & Play at BSB Castelldefels, and especially through our November Wear It Pink Day, when students and staff across our campuses came together with creativity, solidarity, and plenty of pink.

💕 At BSB, we are proud to have a long-standing collaboration with GEICAM (@geicam_), a leading Spanish organisation that has been advancing breast cancer research for over 30 years.

🔬 We are also delighted to share a BSB Expert Talk by Dr Daniel Fernández, Project Manager and Researcher at GEICAM. In this accessible, evidence-based talk, he explains breast cancer research, risk factors, prevention, and how cancer develops — all without medical jargon and with a strong focus on informed awareness. 👉 Watch it via the link in our bio
